The PE separator is one of the key inner components of lithium batteries and is crucial to the battery's performance and safety. It is located between the positive and negative electrodes of the battery. Its main function is to isolate electrons, prevent direct contact between the positive and negative electrodes from causing a short circuit, and at the same time allow lithium ions to pass freely, ensuring the ion conduction during the battery's charging and discharging process.
High-quality diaphragms should possess excellent chemical stability, mechanical strength, porosity and wettability. Chemical stability ensures that it does not react with the electrolyte, etc. The mechanical strength ensures that the battery is not punctured during assembly and use. Appropriate porosity is conducive to the efficient transmission of ions. Good wettability helps the electrolyte to fully wet, enhancing the overall performance and cycle life of the battery.
