AOT-EQ-STC-SSI-S is a small splittable test cell with optical grade quartz widow to analyze the interface of solid-state battery electrodes, mainly dendrite growth,  via an optical microscope.

Two small plates driven by screws would press the cathode, solid electrolyte, and anode electrode together.


Test Cell

1. The cell case is made of Nylon

2. Sealed by the silicone O-rings which is liquid-tight and air-tight

3. Two pressing plates are made of stainless steel 304 with the gold coating

5. Max Force:  1500N

6. Note:  May use a digital torque wrench to apply force accurately.

Quartz Observation Window

The window is made of optical grade quartz glass

Diameter: 50.8 mm

Thickness: 0.5 mm

Most microscope lenses are compatible

Only clean the glass with lens wipes.

Cell Structure and Dimension

1. Cell Structure: Cathode - Solid-state electrolyte - Anode

2. Standard fixture for solid-state electrolyte: 5 mm × 5 mm × 1- 4 mm

3. Optional diameters can be 20 mm, 12 mm, 10 mm, or 6 mm
