Introduction:
The glassy carbon electrode is abbreviated asGCE, which slowly heats polyacrylonitrile resin or phenolic resin to high temperature (up to 1800C) in an inert atmosphere to form glass-like amorphous carbon, which is suitable for electronic conductor materials for electrodes.
Advantages:
The advantages of glassy carbon electrodes are good electrical conductivity, high chemical stability, low thermal expansion coefficient, hard texture and good air tightness.The potential application range is wide (from -1 to 1V, relative to the saturated calomel electrode), and it can be made into cylindrical, disc and other electrode shapes. It can also be used as a substrate to make mercury film glassy carbon electrodes and chemically modified electrodes. It has been widely used in electrochemical experiments or electroanalytical chemistry.
